This is an overhead photo of me. I really enjoy it because it highlights my skin tone due to the red jacket that I am wearing. The picture has a simple black background and it focuses on me. I digitally enhanced it using the Kodak Easy Share effects. The essence of the photo really shines through due to the black background. I was my own photo director in this photo shoot.  Not only is my face captured but also my outfit.

This photo is especially dear to me because it’s a memorial of all the loved one’s that I’ve lost. It’s a combination of flowers from most of their graves. The photo has a solid background and I did zoom in from the middle. With the Kodak Easy Share I was able to brighten the roses so that they shine through as the life of the dead flowers. This is another great scene that I am fortunate to see everyday because I will never forget those that meant the most to me.

This is a picture of a piece of artwork my mother brought back from China. It’s a symbol of a dragon and is said to protect the household. This photo symbolizes the first time my mother went outside of the country. This photo has a solid background and I have zoomed in and added some special effects to lock the focus in on the dragon.  I did not use a flash because there was enough light especially with a white wall. Also, I looked the object directly in the eye.

This photo was taken with a digital camera. It is really important to me because it was one of my cousin’s first paintings and he gave it to my parents as a house warming gift before he went to risk his life in his first our of duty in the navy. He named it a “Needle in the Eye.” In this photo the camera is focused on the hands and the colors in the background illuminate them. The flash of the camera makes the colors look even brighter. I am blessed to be able to look at this everyday

Finally, this is a picture of my newest family member, taken by me. This is a good picture because the subject is looking directly in the camera, I moved in close and the solid background highlights the party hat she is wearing. My motivation behind this picture is my love for my family. This photograph was taken at her first birthday party, which is always a special event to me. The picture has a special glow about it due to her toothless smile. Now we as a family have the satisfaction of watching her grow into a beautiful young lady.

Here is yet another gorgeous picture taken by me. This is the infamous Washington Monument that can be seen from various places in the Washington area. It was built between 1848 and 1884 in order to commemorate the nation’s first President George Washington. The construction was prolonged throughout the years due to the lack of funds because of the civil war. I believe this also commemorates the start of a new beginning for the whole nation not just the surrounding metropolitan area This picture is great, the focus is locked on the monument, the sunlight showcases the water and the monument simultaneously and the background is simplistic.

This is a photograph that I’ve taken and edited of the Jefferson Memorial and the beautiful water that surrounds it. This memorial was approved by congress in June 1934. It was initially built by John Russell Pope. After his death in 1937, Daniel Higgins and Otto Eggers took over the construction. The memorial is located on the Tidal Basin however it replaced the Japanese cherry trees. This is a good picture with a plain background, an accurate measurement of light and good direction. The Jefferson Memorial is special to the United States because it commemorates one of the nation’s most influential President’s.

This is a picture taken by me at my aunt's beach house in Virginia. Every summer I go there to relax and last summer I was lucky enough this gorgeous picture of the sunset. It's a good picture because it uses a plain background which is enhanced by the sunlight. The reflection of the sunlight is shown on this beautiful lake. It's also a good picture because I was able to capture the sunlight without a flash. Also, I was close enough to capture most of the lake. The lake is near Hampton, Virginia.

This is one of the infamous painting by Leonardo Davinci. I have digitally enhanced this picture that was taken at the National Gallery of Art. Legend has it that the artist was trying to portray a young man's loss of his father. In Italy this painting can  be found in the Paola Trevisan. The painting was painted in 1495. It is a great picture because the lighting illuminates the muscles of the young man and the angels. I moved in close enough to capture both of the men and the background uses solid colors.

Ricardo Klehr

This photo by Ricardo Klehr is tremendous. Not only is the lighting just right to highlight the true subject of the photo which is the pill. The meaning is clear to the audience. He is an excellent picture director and the focus is locked on the subject as well.

Luther Caverly

This photo by Luther Caverly is also a great picture. Not only has the photographer measured the lighting so that the glow between the young man's hands is not lost in the photo but he has also locked the focus so that the subject is the blue light. Caverly looks the young man directly in the eye  and moves in closely. Majority of the tips are displayed in the photo.

This photograph by Alyssa Skyes is great.  She uses a plain background, the flashed is used in a great range in order to illuminate the characters face and background. She also zooms in at a perfect angle and captures the sunlight in a way that it does not interfere with the flash.

This is a beautiful photo by Susan Ray, she captures the innocence of an infant by capturing the photo while he is peacefully sleeping. She also uses a solid, light, clean background which also describes the purity of the child.
